Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Patch Reset Servers After 24 Hours, Multi Voice Digital Feedback on Micro Transactions

Date:

Gran Turismo7 Servers have been reset after 24 hours of unexpected and unprecedented downtime. The entire experience has been largely unplayable over the past day, as the PlayStation 5 and PS4 require an internet connection to save gameplay progress. Weighing in at 354.5 MB, the new update brings the version back online.

Here are the patch notes from Polyphony Digital:

  • Fixed an issue where car collection did not appear in used cars and dealerships of antique cars
  • Fixed an issue where the game would sometimes not be able to play, without advancing to the world map

Serial producer Kasunori Yamauchi is also the owner Comment on the gap: “Immediately before Update to version 1.07In this article, we have identified some issues with the PS5 and PS4 product versions in which the game does not start properly. This is a rare issue not seen during development machines or pre-release QA sessions, but we have decided to interrupt the release of update 1.07 in order to prioritize the security of data storage for users. Patch Update 1.08. This is the reason for the delay. My sincere apologies for the late statement to everyone.

This makes sense, but we would argue that communication could have been better within 24 hours of the whole game being offline.

Also, this is not the only concern fans have about the Gran Turismo 7 at the moment: In-game currency rewards have been modified with Update 1.07This raises questions about micro transactions in the £ 70 / $ 70 version.

Yamauchi said: “At Gran Turismo 7, I want to allow users to enjoy a lot of cars and racing, even without the hassle. At the same time, pricing of cars is an important factor in revealing their value and rarity, so I think it is important to relate them to real world prices. I would like to turn the Gran Turismo 7 into a game where you can enjoy a variety of cars in different ways and, if possible, try to avoid the situation where the player has to mechanically replay certain events. ”

He continued, “We will keep you up to date with updates on additional content, additional racing events and additional features that will solve this creatively. It hurts me that I can not explain the details of this at the moment, but we plan to continue reviewing the Gran Turismo 7 so that as many players as possible can enjoy the game. If everyone follows the development of the Gran Turismo 7 from a long-term perspective we will greatly appreciate it.

Honestly, this is a terrible statement, and two weeks after its release, it is a shame to see the lovingly received version fall into these obvious traps. Gran Turismo 7 is a great racing game With some great content in the series’ glorious history, but acting as sports economy modes that reveal the “value and rarity” of real cars is an absurd statement.

Unfortunately, just days after the release of the critically acclaimed game, Polyphony Digital will now have to work hard to save face and restore the reputation of this release. The real mistake made unknowingly!
