Evidence suggests that Mars flowed with rivers, lakes and streams four billion years ago, and a new study suggests that those rivers are now only miles below the surface of Mars.

Researchers at the University of Binghamton have reported that water is trapped within clay deposits 18 miles below the surface of Mars.

According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, the team observed the element “ferrous smokedite” on the surface of Mars.

Iron-Iron-Smectite, a low-temperature form of smectite, is found to be stable up to a temperature of about 600 செல் C at a depth of 30 km, making it clear that smectite may indeed exist. An important reservoir lost on Mars. ”

The first evidence of water on Mars was released by NASA in 2006, with two images of two craters called Terra Siren and Centauri Montes exposing liquid water to Mars between 1999 and 2001.

Red Planet is characterized by many archaic valleys and river canals that have long indicated that liquid water may flow there.

NASA Perseverance is currently cruising across Mars to explore the Jessero Abyss, a lake that was flooded about 3.5 billion years ago, and it is believed that much of the water that once existed on Mars is now stored in polar caps. And like ground ice.

Over the past several years, enough data has been collected from satellites orbiting Mars to determine if there is not enough ice or enough vapor loss from the surface of Mars.

The primary contribution of this study is that it provides the extreme temperature at which iron-rich smectite may be present at greater depths on Mars.
