On Friday, French police arrested three people accused of cheating tourists at a game Under the Eiffel TowerA police source told AFP.

After a month-long investigation, two Roman men and a woman were arrested in Seine-Saint-Denis, a suburb of northeastern Paris.

Evidence indicated that investigators were able to identify about 40 fake players and spectators involved in the scam and confiscated 6 tables where the game was played. All those arrested were from Romania.

In recent weeks, the French police have launched a number of operations to combat fraud and irregular sales on the streets of Paris, which have been bustling with tourists due to a drop in the number of cases registered in Corona.
