Date:

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has been ousted after a week – long political crisis following the defeat of a no – confidence vote in parliament.

Acting Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayas Sadiq said 174 delegates voted in favor of the no-confidence motion, so Imran Khan was removed from office after a week of political upheaval, becoming the first elected leader in the country’s history to be ousted. By Parliament.

More than 172 members of parliament from the united opposition voted against the prime minister, more than the 172 delegates needed to remove the 69-year-old former cricket star from office.

Nawaz Sharif’s younger brother Shahbaz Sharif, a three – time former prime minister, is expected to replace him on Sunday or Monday.
