Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the Netherlands on Thursday morning in a surprise stop where he was supposed to go to the International Criminal Court, Dutch news agency ANB reported.

Zelenskiy, who is making his first visit to the Netherlands, arrived at Amsterdam-Schiphol airport after attending the Nordic summit in Helsinki, the agency said.

The agency released several images, including one of a plane it said was a Dutch government plane possibly carrying the Ukrainian president.

Zelensky is expected to deliver a speech in the city titled “There is no peace without justice for Ukraine,” according to state broadcaster “NSO.”

Citing unnamed sources, apart from the meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, there is also a scheduled meeting with the Dutch delegation.

The Netherlands has supported Ukraine since the start of the Russian military operation in February 2022.

Denmark announced last month that it would buy 14 Cheetahs along with 2 tanks for 165 million euros to supply Kiev with heavy weaponry, which is asking for more.

Zelensky confirmed on Wednesday, during a surprise visit to Finland, that this year would be “decisive”, reiterating his demand for heavy weapons.
