The decision was made by the board of directors of the Emirates Football Association during an emergency meeting held yesterday at the federation’s headquarters in Dubai, where they discussed developments related to the resignation of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, who took over as First Vice-President. The president of the federation, Abdullah Nasser Al Junaibi, is the interim president of the federation, giving him all the powers granted to the president, which will convene a general assembly within 90 days to elect a new board of directors for the football association. . The Board of Directors confirmed that the work of the Federation will continue as per the approved plans.

During the meeting, the Board of Directors of the Emirates Football Association thanked Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi for the work he has spent as president of the federation since he assumed his duties in January 2020. 2024 election cycle.

The Secretary General of the Football Association, Muhammad Bin Hasam Al-Taheri, said in press reports after the meeting: “According to the text of Article 99 of the Law of the Football Association, the Council decided that the first vice-president, Abdullah Nasser Al-Junaibi, will be the president of the federation until the general assembly is called to elect a new board of directors. takes charge, and invitations to hold the General Assembly shall be sent to the clubs which are members of the Football Association, 60 days prior to the date of the General Assembly.

It is noteworthy that the first vice president is Abdullah Nasser Al Junaibi and the second vice president is Hussain Al Sahlavi.
