Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has won the 2021 FIFA World Player of the Year award.

Egypt and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah finished third, behind Messi and Lewandowski.

How did Salah get the vote share?

Initially, each country had the right to vote 3 times, one vote for the team coach, one vote for the team captain, and one vote for the journalist from that country.

Any player is prohibited from voting for him.

The first place winner gets 5 points, the second place winner gets 3 points and the third person gets only 1 point.

According to the Egyptian media, Salah received 223 votes in the race, 63 votes in the first place, 75 votes in the second place and 85 votes in the third place.
