ABU DHABI, 27th February 2024 (WAM) — The UAE Show Jumping team has made history by qualifying for the upcoming Olympic Games (Paris 2024).
The United Arab Emirates team qualified for the Olympic Games by finishing second in their group in the qualifiers held in Al Shaqab, Qatar’s capital, Doha, on Monday.
The roster of our national team in the qualifiers includes knights Abdullah Muhammad Al-Mari “James”, Abdullah Hameed Al-Muhairi “Shaqolo”, knight Muhammad Khanem Al-Hajri “GS Fabian”. “, and the young rider Omar Abdulaziz Al-Marzooqi with the horse “Talida”. “.
Major General Dr Ahmad Nasser Al Raisi, Chairman of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, congratulated the brilliant leadership and people of the Emirates for this achievement.
He affirmed that the continuous support of the wise leadership to the equestrian sport has placed it at the top of the international and global arena to record leadership and excellence with distinction in all its competitions, as well as by hosting a large number of major world championships. He also said that the UAE team has achieved a record by qualifying for the Olympics with a resounding success in organizing the World Endurance Championship at Boudib Village, which has won praise and appreciation from the international equestrian community.
