How to maintain iPhone battery after new update?

Date:

Some iPhone users are facing battery issues after installing the latest update from Apple.

They have complained about several issues related to the new “iOS 16.5” update, such as high temperature of the phone and faster battery charging speed than before, according to “Zdnet”, a website specializing in technology news.

Therefore, the site provided 7 tips so that you can find where the fault lies and fix possible battery problems.

1- Patience

It is normal for battery life to decrease after installing any update from Apple.

iPhones have to perform many background tasks following an update, and this consumes more power than usual, so battery life returns to normal after all these extra tasks are completed.

2- Restart

As the update process will automatically reboot the phone, it may seem strange that a reboot is recommended.

But doing it again and again can really help—and it’s been proven to work many times over.

3- Update applications

The problem may be related to a malicious app rather than iOS itself, which means it’s important to make sure all your apps are up-to-date.

To do this, go to the Apple Store and click on your profile icon at the top. Scroll down and click “Update All” to find available updates.

4- Determine the cause of the dead battery

“Rogue” apps can drain the phone’s power if the previous step doesn’t improve the battery. Fortunately, iOS provides the tools you need to track down malicious apps.

So go to settings and then battery. Here you can see a wealth of data, including ‘Phone activity by app’, which describes how much power an app uses when it’s on screen and how much it uses in the background.

This information can be used to detect battery drain issues so you can control which apps are consuming the most power.

5- Replace the battery

If the phone is 4 or more years old, the battery may be old and needs to be replaced.

To find out, tap Settings, go to Battery, then Phone Health & Charging and check the maximum battery capacity listed.

If this percentage is less than 80%, it may indicate that the battery is bad and needs to be replaced.

6- High temperature

The problem may firstly be exposing the phone to a sharp increase in temperature, especially when it is exposed to the sun and at the same time it is used inside the car when it is placed on the charger.

High temperatures lead to corrosion of battery cells and performance issues.

7- Wait

If the previous steps don’t work, wait for a new update from Apple to fix the problem.
