Iran: Al-Sisi’s positions on regional developments are “wise and correct”

Abdullahian added, in a statement published by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA), that Oman Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s visit to Iran was “intended to respond to the visit of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to the Sultanate last year.”

Referring to the Sultan of Oman’s visit to Egypt ahead of his visit to Iran, the Iranian Foreign Minister said: “It was confirmed when news of his talks with Egyptian President Abdel-Battah el-Sisi on improving relations with Iran reached senior Iranian officials. Bilateral relations between the two countries In addition to the wise and correct positions of the President of the Republic of Egypt that there is no problem, the developments in recent years in the region, especially the fight against (ISIS) and the file of Syria.

Abdullahian added, “Iran welcomes initiatives aimed at expanding ties between Tehran and Cairo to benefit the interests of both countries.”

Notably, Iranian leader Ali Khamenei expressed his welcome to what he described as “Egypt’s willingness” to resume diplomatic ties with his country during a meeting with the Sultan of Oman in Iran on Monday.

In a series of tweets posted on Khamenei’s Twitter account after his meeting with the Sultan of Oman, the Iranian leader said: “We believe that developing relations between Iran and Oman in all fields is in the interest of both sides. We believe in raising the level of cooperation. It is important between the two countries because both cross the waters of the Strait of Hormuz.” Very important.”

The Sultan of Oman arrived in Iran on Sunday on a two-day visit, during which he met with Khamenei and the Iranian president.

Relations between Cairo and Tehran deteriorated after the Iranian Islamic Revolution and saw significant improvement under the late Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, but the development of relations was short-lived with the removal of Morsi and the “Muslim Brotherhood” from power. , relations returned to an impasse.
