WhatsApp is getting ready to charge users

Date:

Chatting app WhatsApp is gearing up for shocking new fees starting this year, after Google confirmed that users will have to pay in some cases as early as 2024.

Google charges all users who exceed the 15GB Google Account cloud storage limit.

Google revealed in a post, “As an important warning, similar to how WhatsApp backups are handled on other phone platforms and mobile devices, backups for the WhatsApp app on Android will soon start counting toward your Google Account cloud storage limit. “

Google currently offers 15GB of data for free, but once that limit is reached, the amount increases and you have to pay applicable charges.

According to Daily Mirror, users can avoid paying and at the same time avoid losing your WhatsApp backups.

The best and easiest way to stop being charged is to make sure you delete old files, photos and videos from your Google Account, as you won't be penalized when the new terms and conditions apply.

Google confirmed: “As long as you have space in your Google Account storage, WhatsApp backups on Android phones will continue to work.” If you reach the limit of your storage capacity, you should free up space to resume backups by removing items you no longer need.
