A strange message from a friend threatening your account on WhatsApp | Technology and cars

Date:

AMMON – Users of the instant messaging app “WhatsApp” have received a recent warning about a new scam that allows hackers to take complete control of their accounts.

An easy trick to disguise
According to British newspaper “The Sun”, “Cybercheckmama” urged TikTokker users to fall for this scam with an easy-to-disguise trick.

The trick is that your friend starts a conversation with you through the messaging app, but you’re actually talking to the person who hacked your friend’s account – now he wants to hack your account too, because WhatsApp once used a password verification code to verify the identity of the users associated with the phone number, the owner of the account, however, the hackers. They use this feature to steal people’s accounts.

WhatsApp code
In this context, you will receive an official message from the app with your WhatsApp code in a TikTok video.
Then someone who is “supposed to be a friend” asks you for the code, claiming to have sent it to your number by mistake.
If a hacker gets the code, he can access your account.

Do not share code
Note that the text itself says: “Do not share this code with others.”
It’s easy to get a “false sense of security” when chatting with a friend, but there’s no real reason for anyone, friend or family member, to send their verification code to your phone number.
Tic Toker insisted: “Don’t give them. If you do, they can hack your whole account!”
All you need to do is block the account that asked you for the code and try to reach the friend through another communication to inform them that their account has been hacked.
