Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Catherine Colonna, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of France, at a dinner in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting held yesterday, they discussed the developments in the Middle East region and ways to urgently strengthen humanitarian and relief operations for civilians.

Catherine discussed with Colonna the efforts to de-escalate and de-escalate the situation, and in this regard, they emphasized the urgent priority of protecting all civilians from the consequences of the current crisis.

Both sides also reviewed regional and international efforts to provide relief and medical assistance to civilians in a safe and sustainable manner.

In a related context, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Catherine Colonna discussed the friendly relations between the United Arab Emirates and the French Republic and opportunities for strategic partnership, and reviewed the paths of bilateral cooperation in all fields including economy, trade, development. , investment and education.

Emirati-French cooperation in the field of environment and climate was touched upon in the framework of the United Arab Emirates hosting the United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP28) this month. They stressed that strengthening cooperation in the climate sector is a priority for both countries and that “COP28” will open up promising horizons for achieving qualitative improvements in the global climate action process.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Catherine Colonna’s visit, stressing the strength and strength of friendly relations and strategic partnership with the French Republic, and pointed to the continued development of joint cooperation between the two countries in support of their development aspirations. and their efforts to achieve sustainable economic prosperity.
