Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) — Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani traveled to the Egyptian capital Cairo on Friday after a meeting with Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed on Thursday.

The Emiri Diwan of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim, is “departing for Cairo on a fraternal visit to the sister Arab Republic of Egypt, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and an official delegation.”

In a tweet on his page, the Qatari Emir said the international community is playing a humanitarian role in opening safe corridors and providing humanitarian aid to civilians. We also discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance our bilateral cooperation in all sectors.

For his part, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed said that on the side of his brothers and friends, he must push towards ensuring safe corridors for humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and providing protection to civilians in accordance with the provisions of international humanitarian law. , and creating a horizon for a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
