Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Wednesday that China is ready to work with Russia to take their practical cooperation to a higher level in various fields. China and Russia will sign bilateral agreements today during the visit of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to Beijing. .

Li said during the meeting in Mishustin that the practical cooperation between China and Russia is developing well and the amount of investment between the two countries continues to grow.

Mishustin is the highest-ranking Russian official to visit Beijing since Moscow launched its war on Ukraine in February 2022.

The Russian official held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang, and the Russian “Interfax” agency said “as a result of the talks, several bilateral agreements are planned to be signed,” without elaborating.

The Russian Prime Minister said yesterday that the strengthening of Russian-Chinese relations will positively affect the economy of both countries, saying that the volume of trade exchange will reach 200 billion dollars this year.

Chinese exports to Russia continued to rise in April, rising 153.1% year-on-year, according to Chinese customs data.

The visit comes after Russia and China reacted angrily to statements made against them during the G-7 summit in Japan at the weekend.
