During the groundbreaking ceremony for the project on Lodge Island, the island’s third most populous island, President Ramkalan said the medical building represents a milestone in Lodge Island’s history. Its leadership in funding the project, he said, is a “gift related to life and the human spirit.

In appreciation of the continued support of the United Arab Emirates, State President Sheikh Khalifa bin Saeed Al Nahyan stressed that the historical relations of the United Arab Emirates have contributed to the development of the Seychelles in various fields. For his part, Al Naidi said the cost of building the hospital was about four million dollars, urging the friendly United Arab Emirates to provide the Seychelles with various forms of support in line with government policies in its foreign aid. .

Al Naidi pointed out that the Lodge Island Hospital will be operated according to the latest international standards and specifications and will include emergency rooms, operating rooms, a dialysis unit, X-ray facilities and more.
