Dubai hosts first edition of Arab Patel Championship, September 27 ‹ Al Wathan Newspaper

Dubai will host the first edition of the Arab Patel Championship, organized by the Arab and Emirati Patel Federations, from September 27 to next October 1 at the Nat Al Sheba Sports Complex with the participation of 11 Arab countries.

Participating teams were divided into two groups, where the first group included teams from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Iraq and Morocco, while the second group included Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Sudan and Syria.

In the presence of Sheikh Zayed bin Makhtoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of the UAE Patel Federation and Honorary President of the Arab Federation, the Organizing Committee held a conference yesterday at the Dubai Sports Council headquarters. Arab Patel Federation, Dubai Sports Council Secretary General Saeed Hareb and Assistant Secretary General Nasser Aman Al Rahma and United Arab Emirates Patel Federation Secretary General Saeed Al Marri.

Ahmed Ghadori said: “We are happy to organize the first official Arab Padel Championship in Dubai. The team worked hard with all the Arab national federations, and for the first time 11 Arab countries meet in one competition, including 5 countries. This is their first official participation.

He added: “We are on the right track to promote the spread of this sport in the Arab world, and we look forward to more countries participating in the Arab Federation and as members of the International Patel Federation, stressing that the UAE hosts it. This tournament will be a milestone in the development of padel in the Arab world.”

Saeed Al Marri said: “The sport of padel has established its position throughout our Arab world with its wide and rapid spread, and this event would not have been possible without the support and guidance of the Honorable President Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum.
