Emirates News Agency – Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Launches Abu Dhabi Women’s Sports Championship

Abu Dhabi, October 20 / Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Academy announced that the Abu Dhabi Women’s Sports Championship will be launched under the leadership of Sheikh Fatima bint Hasa bin Saeed Al Nahyan in collaboration with the WAM / Abu Dhabi Sports Council. From 22 to 30 October Fatima Bint Mubarak is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ladies Sports Academy and the President of the Abu Dhabi Club and the Al Ain Ladies Club.

In a statement released today by the academy, the competition confirms that its first edition will offer a variety of sporting events aimed at multi-age groups, including youth, adults, locals and residents. Groups and sections of society stimulate energies and encourage everyone to turn sports into a lifestyle.

The competition includes a variety of sports such as “chess, shooting, basketball, volleyball and running” and will be held at various venues including the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, Khalifa University, Al Hudairiat Island and Karakal Shooting Club to coordinate different teams. And age groups under one umbrella that promotes the values ​​of love. And tolerance. Women will have the opportunity to spread positive values ​​in the community with the diversity of its cultures, and provide a clear picture that reflects the state of the UAE in the hearts of all who live on its land, as well as renewed participants of different groups and ages to re-discover themselves and their potential and to communicate positively in a positive manner.

Shamsa al-Hinay, a member of the academy’s board of directors, led by Sheikh Fatima bint Hassa bin Saeed Al Nahyan, said the competition, with the participation of women from different nationalities, ages and cultures, gives it a unique character. It also guarantees great success because it is the best opportunity to practice sports and recreational activities simultaneously, based on the role that sport plays in fostering awareness and social education, and is an excellent gateway for the exchange of knowledge, friendships and ideas and experiences.
