Global Village launches Women-led Joy Festival on March 8

Global Village, one of the world’s most prominent cultural parks and the region’s first family destination for culture, entertainment and shopping, has announced the launch date for its second edition of the “Women-Led Joy Festival”. This year there are two international events, International Women’s Day and International Day of Happiness, during the period March 8-20.

This year, the festival features ten of the world’s most talented female touring artists from Canada, Australia, Argentina, Spain, Germany and Switzerland.

Highlights from this constellation of female artists include:

“The High-Flying Aerial Muse”

Australian performance artist Minerva will present her signature performance “Thicker Van Ciernow” using a piece of fabric floating in the sky as the show takes her audience on a beautiful journey of aerial movements across the horizon.

“Queen of the Bicycle”

Global Village guests will enjoy a performance by Swiss artist Jessica Urban, who will perform her entire performance on a bicycle, and guests will have the opportunity to interact with her. It will be upside down!

“The Sharp Shooting Sensation”

Show artist Sara Twister, one of the world’s most prominent acrobats, will begin her travels in Global Village from Germany, where she will treat guests to breathtaking performances, including “Ready, I Am, Fire.” During that time she would lean on her hands to balance her body, while she would hold the bow and shoot the arrows, which would amaze people of all ages.

In its 27th season, the “Women-Led Festival of Joy” will present Global Village guests with spectacular performances and performances by Billie Kidd, a witch from the United Kingdom, Kata Catharsis Circus from Spain and a rope walking show. Artist Espuma Broma and Mona Shero from Argentina, while Julia Laflamme will present her show, along with The German Wheel, The Farmer’s Daughter Show from Canada and Show Cocorico from Poland.

Guests can enjoy all the activities of the “Women-Led Festival of Joy” at no additional cost to the price of the entrance tickets to the Global Village, which can be obtained through the destination application, its website or at the gates.
