Google’s foldable pixel is coming to this date

Google’s foldable Pixel phone is said to be coming in 2022, but it will not use the same high-end camera sensors as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

The camera is one of the biggest improvements in this year’s Pixel line of phones. Google phones typically compensate for camera hardware with software and machine learning improvements.

The rear camera of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices is 50 megapixels. The Samsung GN1 sensor in the Pixel 6 series was physically larger, allowing for more light and detailed images.

As for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, Google had to make up for this body size, with the result that the camera bar stuck to the phone a few millimeters.

With a traditional smartphone, this is not a big deal. But for a foldable device, calculated every millimeter, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 would be half an inch thick when folded.

To that end, the upcoming foldable Pixel phone – codenamed Pipit – uses the same camera sensors as the Pixel 5.

Instead of the new Samsung GN1 sensor, the 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor in the foldable pixel was used from the Pixel 3, and it is the main sensor.

More details about Google’s foldable phone

Information about creating a foldable Pixel phone was released in August 2020. At the time, the phone was codenamed Passport, initially scheduled for release in late 2021.

Since then, Passport has appeared several times, including the source code of Google Camera Apps and various locations in the Android 12 beta.

At one point in development, it looks like Google has switched from the original Passport model to a new foldable phone called the Pipit.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. But such a code name change during development has happened before.

For example, the pixel slate was developed as a meow when it was planned to run on Intel Canon LAK processors. When the processor was delayed, Google rebuilt the pixel slate with the old Intel processors called Nocturn.

Coming back to the camera specifications, the foldable pipette has a 12MP IMX386 sensor that should be used for the ultra-white lens.

This particular camera is marked folded, indicating that it will only be used when the phone is locked.

The foldable pixel phone comes with two 8-megapixel IMX355 sensors. One is marked as internal and the other as external.

Previous Pixel Phones – Including Pixel 6. But not the Pixel 6 Pro – usually the IMX355 sensor used for the front selfie camera.

As a result, the addition of two identical cameras helps to ensure that the pixel foldable phone takes the same quality selfies when folded or unlocked. One of these cameras is located on the outer screen and the other on the inner screen like Galaxy Fold.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
