Japan beat Syria by 5 in 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

In the 47th minute, Yukinari Sugawara scored Japan’s fourth goal against Syria, making the score 4–0.

Mao Hosoya grabbed the fifth goal for the Japanese side against Syria in the 81st minute of the second half.

The result leaves the Japanese national team top of Group 2 in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup with 6 points, equal with 3 points behind runners-up North Korea and 3 points behind Syria. .

The Japanese national team defeated Myanmar by five goals in the first round of the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
