Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Emirate Executive Committee, has ordered the construction of a 16km orbit around Jumeirah.

The new route will connect the Jumeirah Route, which runs parallel to the Dubai Canal, to the King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street in Dubai Internet City.

Emirates plans to add a total of 276 km of orbit to reach a total distance of 739 km by the end of 2026

In addition, and as noted by the Director General of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RDA), “The construction of this cycle path is part of our efforts to realize the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of Dubai, to improve and bring about a better quality of life for residents and citizens. This is a step towards further sustainability.”

As a reminder, on dedicated cycle paths, cyclists can travel at speeds of up to 30km / h compared to 20km / h if traveling on an urban road or sharing with pedestrians.
