The Dubai Power Platform at COP28 showcases its sustainability plans

While participating in the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) to be held next month in the UAE Expo City Dubai, DEWA’s platform will showcase the Authority’s most important projects. – Flagship schemes, and schemes of the Authority’s subsidiaries.

The platform in the Green Zone highlights the Authority’s tireless efforts in energy, water, clean and renewable energy, space, digital transformation, green mobility, smart grid, innovation investment and latest disruptive technologies. Efforts to improve the leadership of the UAE and Emirate of Dubai at various levels. The platform also has an area for conducting expert workshops, sessions and discussion seminars on the topics of sustainability, anticipation and building the future.

Al Tayer added: “In Dubai, there are development plans and key strategic initiatives implemented by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority to achieve the goals of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Carbon Neutrality Strategy 2050 for the Emirate of Dubai. By 2050, 100% of energy production capacity should be provided from clean energy sources. The most prominent of these projects is the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex. The Authority is implementing several pilot projects in the Emirate of Dubai to diversify sources of clean energy production such as clean and renewable energy technologies, photovoltaic panel technology, concentrated solar energy, green hydrogen production using solar energy and stored water.
