The European Union (EU) has condemned the resignation of Sudanese Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdock.

Amsterdam – Sputnik. “The European Union (EU) is closely monitoring the decision of Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdock to resign,” Foreign Office spokeswoman Nabila Maserli told a news conference on Tuesday.

Mazarlee explained that the federation regrets this decision, noting that “Hamdock had a key role to play.”

On January 2, Hamdock announced his official resignation in the face of opposition to the rejection of a political agreement between him and Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, chairman of the Sudan Sovereign Council.

In his resignation letter, Hamdock confirmed that the agreement he signed with al-Burhan after the October 25 proceedings was an attempt to prevent bloodshed and bring the parties to a table for talks.

In the past, there have been several demonstrations across Sudan called by the Sudan Professionals Association and other political forces, against the decision to dissolve al-Burhan’s sovereign councils and interim ministers on October 25, as well as the latest political agreement. Signed between Hamdock and al-Burhan.
