Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Governor, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Dubai, welcomed President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka at the Expo 2020 Dubai Headquarters yesterday morning. The meeting also discussed bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Sri Lanka and ways to enhance it in all areas to achieve the aspirations of the two friendly countries and the people.

In the presence of the Chairman of the Dubai Media Council Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Deputy Governor, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Dubai, the President welcomed the guests, stressed the United Arab Emirates’ interest in strengthening cooperation with various countries. In various economic, cultural, tourism and other fields, both sides expected to put pressure on the ratio of friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries. For his part, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the United Arab Emirates, the President of Sri Lanka reiterated his country’s interest in enhancing its cooperation with the United Arab Emirates in various fields, supporting construction efforts in both countries and fulfilling the aspirations of the United Arab Emirates and building bridges of cooperation with various world communities. , Appreciates the interest of their leadership in supporting and enhancing bilateral relations to serve the interests of nations and peoples.

The meeting was attended by Reem Al Hashimi, Joint Minister for International Cooperation and Director General for Expo 2020 Dubai, Abdullah bin Dook Al Marri, Minister of Economy, Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayeq, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman and CEO of the DP World Group.
