This is why the US President’s dog Commander was removed from the White House

Date:

US President Joe Biden’s dog, Commander, a German shepherd with a pronounced tendency to bite, has been removed from the White House, according to a spokesman for Biden and his wife. Same reasons.

“The commander is no longer at the White House pending a decision regarding him,” spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander said in a brief statement.

He noted that US President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, “place a high priority on the safety of all White House staff and those who protect them every day.”

The Secret Service, which specializes in protecting senior officials in the United States, announced Monday evening that one of its members had been bitten.

US media reported Thursday that the commander, who was a puppy when he was brought to the White House in 2021, had more bites than had been reported to date.

CNN and Axios reported that the dog attacked other White House staffers and bit members of the Secret Service more than 11 times.

The couple announced that they had sent their dog to training over the summer after the media revealed it had bitten several people, including one who required hospitalization.

Their other dog, Major, was briefly sent to Delaware in 2021 for training after biting at least one White House staffer.

Based on the recommendation of experts, Biden and his wife were forced to abandon the “Major” and send it to their friends who live in “a more peaceful environment.”
