Former US President Donald Trump has proposed pardoning some of those who carried out the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021, if he wins the next presidential election in 2024..

Today, during a meeting with his supporters in Conroy, Texas, the Republican millionaire said: “If I run and win, we will justify the situation of those who attacked Capitol Hill on January 6.”

“If an apology is necessary, we will forgive them because they are being treated very unfairly,” he added.

Since January 6, 2021, more than 725 people have been arrested, including members of far-right groups: “The Brute Boys”, “Outkeepers” and “Three Percent”, on charges of participating in this unprecedented attack, leading to the deaths of five people..

Trump supporters tried to blockade the Congress headquarters, and some of them were able to enter when the House approved Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election..

On January 13, Stuart Rhodes, 56, founder of the “Guardians of the Truth” group, one of the far-right groups in the United States, was accused of “sowing treason” along with ten other members of the organization..

In parallel, a parliamentary committee is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the attack and whether Trump or someone close to him was involved in instigating it..

So far the committee has issued sub-bonuses to several key figures close to Trump, and his daughter Ivanka has been invited to testify..

Deputies are running against time because Democrats fear the Republicans will regain control of the House and end the trial, wanting to release their results less than a year before the midterm elections..
