AlUla Moments is preparing to mesmerise audiences once again with the return of Hegra Candlelit Classics, an unmissable musical experience staged beneath the stars at Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Across two enchanting evenings on 20 and 21 November 2025, guests will be seated among the awe-inspiring Nabataean tombs, illuminated by the soft glow of thousands of candles, creating a truly extraordinary setting.

The evening of 20 November will feature an historic Saudi Arabian debut: YOSHIKI, the legendary Japanese composer, pianist, drummer, and leader of X Japan. Renowned for his unique blend of classical refinement and rock intensity, YOSHIKI’s performances at iconic venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall and New York’s Carnegie Hall are celebrated for their emotional power and electrifying energy. His appearance at Hegra promises a spellbinding concert beneath the desert night sky.

In 2025, Time Magazine named YOSHIKI one of the “100 most influential people in the world” in its TIME100 issue, recognising his cross-genre artistry and global cultural impact. With more than 50 million records sold worldwide, YOSHIKI is regarded as one of Asia’s most influential artists and an international rock icon. He is also the first and only Japanese artist to have been honoured with a hand and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, a tradition dating back nearly a century.

Sharing the stage on the same night will be Grammy-nominated trumpeter IBRAHIM MAALOUF, a musician widely acclaimed for breaking musical boundaries. Performing at Hegra Candlelit Classics as part of his Kalthoum 2025 Tour, MAALOUF brings his renowned blend of jazz, classical, and Arabic sounds. With over one million albums sold and a history of performing at prestigious venues and festivals such as London’s Royal Albert Hall, Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Tokyo Jazz Festival, and the Nice Jazz Festival, his performance will be another highlight of the evening.

Hegra Candlelit Classics is a signature event of the Ancient Kingdoms Festival, which will run from 20 November to 6 December 2025. This annual celebration showcases the rich heritage of the ancient civilisations of AlUla, including the kingdoms of Dadan, Lihyan, and the Nabataeans. Visitors can look forward to a diverse programme of cultural performances, immersive archaeological tours, and opportunities to explore artefacts that tell the story of the region’s vibrant history.

With every flicker of candlelight, each stirring note, and the desert breeze carrying the music across the ancient tombs, Hegra Candlelit Classics promises an unforgettable experience that touches the heart and inspires the soul.
