The 90-minute call between Putin and Macron confirmed mutual warnings and the continuation of the war in Russia.

Date:

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday told his French envoy Emmanuel Macron that military operations in Ukraine would continue and that Putin had begun a 90-minute telephone call, Elysee Palace sources said.

“Unfortunately, this conversation is appropriate to ask whether President Putin will continue his military intervention and continue until the end,” the source told reporters.

The contact said, “This relationship has allowed the President of the Republic to raise controversial points with Russia again, to look for diplomatic alternatives to military action, and to inform President Putin of the reality of our view on the Ukraine war and the consequences of Russia. It will last a long time.”

According to the official Russian News Agency (TASS), Yudin and Macron had an open exchange of views on the situation in Ukraine.

A statement from Russia’s official RIA Novosti news agency said the talks were “tough” and that Putin had been involved in “sabotaging the Ukraine-Minsk agreements for seven years.”

According to the French and Russians, the two presidents agreed to open the door to dialogue.

Putin warned the West that Moscow would hold new demands from Kiev and that military action would continue anyway if talks between Russia and Ukraine continued.

The Russian president has denied that he carried out the bombing of the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, and blamed Ukraine for the situation, warning that the situation could worsen.

Macron, on the other hand, warned Putin that he was making a “dangerous mistake” and, according to the source, revealed that the French president had told his Russian president that Moscow’s demands to neutralize and disarm Ukraine were “unacceptable.” Putin is fully responsible for this war.

Meanwhile, the French president stressed that there is still time for diplomacy and dialogue to discuss Russia’s concerns and interests, but that the dialogue could not take place “under Russian control” and should be organized by international partners.

Macron called on Putin to respect Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zhelensky, his family, relatives, Ukrainian government officials and elected representatives.

After his call with Putin, the French president made an invitation with his Ukrainian president.
