The United Arab Emirates has announced an agreement to repatriate 5,000 Afghans deported from Afghanistan before leaving for other countries.

At the request of the United States, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced that the United Arab Emirates would temporarily detain Afghan citizens before leaving for other countries. , Kabul, in the coming days, on American flights.

The humanitarian effort facilitates dozens of recent flights carrying hundreds of foreign nationals from Afghanistan to the United Arab Emirates, where many diplomats, various national staff and NGO workers travel to the country’s airports. The United Arab Emirates has facilitated the repatriation of about 8,500 foreigners from Afghanistan by its flights and its airports.

His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of International Cooperation for Foreign and International Development Affairs stressed that this is a testament to the commitment of the United Arab Emirates in strengthening international cooperation.

In this regard, he said: “The United Arab Emirates has always sought peaceful and multilateral solutions and is keen to continue working with international partners to advance efforts to help the people of Afghanistan during this period.”
