The 10th edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge will run from 31 October to 29 November 2026, asking residents and visitors to commit to 30 minutes of physical activity every day for 30 days.

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) will hold an official press conference on Tuesday 27 October at Coca-Cola Arena to celebrate the launch of the edition, according to the organisers’ invitation. It will include welcome remarks from DET, DSC and Dubai Fitness Challenge spokespeople and a partner panel discussion, followed by a Dubai Basketball game against Paris Basketball at the arena.

A decade of 30×30

The challenge was launched under the vision of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. The Dubai Media Office, in a statement carried by Dubai One, said it began in 2017 and has grown into “one of the world’s largest community fitness initiatives”, with more than 16 million participants so far. The statement said this year’s edition would use digital innovation to connect with more people.

The 2026 theme is “What’s Your 30×30?”, according to Gulf News. The organisers say the edition is open to people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels, and Gulf News reported that registration is free.

Gulf News reported that Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, said the simplicity of the 30×30 concept had helped make physical activity accessible to people of different ages and abilities.

Key dates

Gulf Business and Gulf News listed the flagship events in the programme:

– **Dubai Ride**, presented by DP World: 1 November. – **Dubai Stand-Up Paddle**, presented by RTA, at Hatta Dam: 7 and 8 November. – **Dubai Run**: 22 November, along Sheikh Zayed Road and through Downtown Dubai. – **Dubai Yoga**, presented by MHERO, in its second edition: 29 November, closing the challenge.

Gulf Business reported that Dubai Run drew more than 307,000 participants in 2025. Gulf News reported that it had 70,000 in 2019 and that Dubai Ride, which began in 2020, drew more than 40,000 cyclists last year.

Community hubs and free classes

Beyond the headline events, Gulf Business reported that the wider programme includes three free Fitness Villages, more than 23 Community Fitness Hubs and thousands of free classes. According to Gulf News, activities include yoga, walking, running, padel, basketball, football and volleyball.

Gulf News also reported that the organisers are putting an emphasis on families, friends, colleagues and communities exercising together, and that the 10th edition coincides with the UAE’s Year of the Family.

Sport around the challenge

Several international sporting events fall within the same window, according to Gulf News:

– Emaar Dubai Premier Padel P1: 8 to 15 November. – DP World Tour Championship: 12 to 15 November. – Dubai T100 Triathlon: 13 to 15 November. – Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix, presented by DP World: 21 and 22 November. – Emirates Dubai 7s: 27 to 29 November.

The launch evening

The invitation sets out the press conference timetable: registration from 6pm, then the conference, welcome speeches and media questions from 6.20pm to 8pm, with the Dubai Basketball and Paris Basketball game at 8pm. The venue is Premier Club 3 at Coca-Cola Arena.
