Abdullah bin Zayed: Strategic partnership between UAE and Brazil is strong and growing

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Saeed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Brazil, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira. They discussed bilateral relations and ways to improve them, within the framework of strategic partnership – of several Latin American and Caribbean countries.

His Highness and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil reviewed opportunities to develop joint cooperation paths in several fields, including economy, development, food security, renewable energy and climate.

The talks focused on Brazil’s preparations for the next G20 presidency in 2024 and the results of the two countries’ participation in the G20 summit held in India last month. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Mauro Vieira discussed joint cooperation between the UAE and Brazil within the framework of BRICS, following the UAE’s official accession to the group.

He stressed the importance of joint cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the BRICS group, which provides an excellent platform for multilateral international activities aimed at achieving sustainable development and prosperity of the people, praising the support of the Federal Republic of Brazil. The two ministers agreed on the importance of “COP28” in advancing opportunities for bilateral cooperation between the two countries on the issue of climate change and achieving a qualitative change in the course of global climate action.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the strategic partnership between the UAE and Brazil is strong and growing, and supports the vision of both friendly countries to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development in all sectors.

His Highness said: “Next year, the United Arab Emirates and the Federal Republic of Brazil will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and there is a common will and desire to move forward with their strategic partnership towards broader horizons. Growth and development in all fields.”

Mauro Vieira, for his part, praised the distinguished strategic partnership with the UAE, expressing his wishes for the UAE’s success in hosting the COP28 conference.

He also met Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, President of the Federal Senate and the Brazilian National Congress.

The two sides discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation and ways to enhance it in all sectors, including parliament, based on the strategic partnership that unites the two countries.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Saeed Al Nahyan expressed his desire that the visit will help the two countries improve bilateral cooperation at various levels and achieve their development goals.

For his part, Rodrigo Pacheco welcomed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Saeed Al Nahyan, emphasizing the depth of friendship between the two countries and his country’s desire to strengthen them in various fields.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed also met Brazil’s Chief Presidential Adviser Celso Amorim, and during the meeting, the two sides discussed the strategic relations between the UAE and Brazil and ways to improve them.

They also exchanged views on many matters of common interest.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed praised the development in the levels of mutual cooperation and excellent friendship between the two countries within the framework of the Emirati-Brazilian strategic partnership.

For his part, Celso Amorim welcomed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and his accompanying delegation, stressing the importance of the visit in opening promising frontiers for strategic cooperation between the two countries.
