Covering an area of more than 35,000 square meters, the museum has been designed by leading architectural firm McConaughey to reflect natural rock formations, reflecting its purpose of enhancing understanding of the natural world.
In its design, the building uses pentagonal geometry as the main theme that reflects the pentagonal shape of the cellular structure of the natural world.
Water and plants play an inherent role in design, and they are important symbols of desert life.
