On Thursday, the United States announced new sanctions against Russia, targeting the political world, powerful businessmen and the defense sector in response to military action in Ukraine.

The White House report, in particular, includes these measures, which provide for the freezing of assets in the United States, the 328 delegates in the Duma, as well as the Russian House of Representatives and 48 major public bodies in the defense sector. .

The report points out that the sanctions target more than 400 individuals and entities, including the State Duma and its members, additional members of the Russian elite, and Russian security agencies that have fueled Putin’s war machine.

The U.S. Treasury said in a separate statement that the sanctions were aimed specifically at the “Tactical Weapons Corporation”, a Russian state security group currently stationed in Russia.

The Group of Seven and the leaders of the European Union also announced a consolidated strengthening of their response to avoid sanctions targets.

Russia wants to impose sanctions on any deal, including gold reserves, to avoid financial isolation by the West against Moscow.

“The United States and its allies are attacking Russia’s key ability to finance and execute its war and atrocities against Ukraine,” Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in a statement.

The British government announced a series of new sanctions targeting 59 Russian individuals and companies and six Belarusian companies.
