The Argentine national team suspended its match against the host of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, and returned to his home country yesterday, Sunday.
The players of the “Tango Dancers” team were forced to leave the field seven minutes after the start of the match when they were attacked by Brazilian health officials.
This was due to concerns about the corona virus for three of the Argentine national team players who were to be in isolation at the behest of the Brazilian health agency, but the match began as they were on the team in violation of the rules.
Daniel Scully, Argentina’s ambassador to Brazil, arrived at the airport with his country’s delegation and said the group had begun procedures for leaving Brazil.
And the account of the Argentine Football Association on Twitter, which posted a picture of the national team players on board the return flight.
The Argentine federation released an official statement in which it expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to suspend the competition, saying they were surprised by the decision of the Brazilian Ministry of Health after the start of the competition.
In its statement, the federation pointed out that the Argentine national team representatives will be in Brazil territory from the third of this month, in accordance with all current health regulations approved by CONMEBOL to qualify for Qatar 2022.
He said he was awaiting a report from CONMEBOL officials and the competition referee and that information would be sent to the relevant organization at the International Federation of FIFAs under current rules.
He concluded his statement by emphasizing that football should not allow these types of behaviors to affect such important events.
