Superintendent of Police A.N.M Maruf Abdullah from the Bangladesh Police proudly represented his country at an international level by participating in one of the world’s most prestigious police leadership programmes organised by Dubai Police in the United Arab Emirates.

He was selected to join 54 distinguished officers from 38 countries in the second edition of the Police Innovation and Leadership (PIL) Diploma. The programme focused on advanced policing strategies, including digital transformation, artificial intelligence, blockchain applications in forensic science, and modern risk management.

“This was more than a training course. It was a life-changing opportunity,” said Supt. Abdullah. “I gained practical knowledge that can be applied directly in Bangladesh, especially in combating cybercrime and financial fraud.”

One of the highlights of the programme for him was the final project, which focused on raising public awareness about the dangers of crimes linked to cryptocurrencies. He noted that the experience enhanced his understanding of digital threats and helped him improve his ability to simplify complex information for public communication.

The programme, held in partnership with the Rochester Institute of Technology in Dubai, also included leadership development and well-being sessions. Supt. Abdullah explained that he returned home with a sharper strategic mindset, greater confidence in decision-making, and a deeper understanding of the importance of mental and physical balance in policing roles.

He expressed pride in carrying the name of Bangladesh to a global platform and sharing space with top police professionals from around the world. “It was an honour to represent my country and to exchange experiences with officers who are shaping the future of global policing,” he said.

He also encouraged law enforcement agencies around the world to study Dubai Police’s model, which integrates smart city systems, data analysis, and AI-driven surveillance to strengthen trust, transparency, and community satisfaction.

Supt.  Abdullah thanked the Government of the United Arab Emirates and Dubai Police for the opportunity to be part of such a significant experience. He stated that the knowledge and inspiration he gained would fuel positive changes in the policing system of Bangladesh. “Dubai Police is not only building a secure future for its own city. It is also inspiring police forces around the world, including ours.”
