Barcelona president Joan Laporte has denied that he has been in talks with Norwegian international Erling Holland, the top scorer for Borussia Dortmund, over the possibility of a move to Camp Nou.

And the sports newspaper “La Sportio” reported on Sunday that Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez and Catalan club sports adviser Jordi Groove had traveled to Munich this week to meet with Hollande.

Xavier did not deny the news, confirming that he could not release details of a possible deal to add a 21-year-old striker, noting that Barcelona “works for the present and future in the exchange market”.

Laborda has insisted that Barcelona will not enter into official talks with Hollande, who have been linked with a 75 million (82 82 million) deal with Dortmund, which could be implemented by the end of the season.

Laporta said in a news release on Sunday that “in Barcelona, we did not negotiate with the player. When we have to negotiate, we will negotiate with Borussia Dortmund if necessary.”

He added, “Didn’t Savi deny it? I categorically deny it. If we negotiate, we will negotiate with Borussia Dortmund.

“We work and plan, but we do not negotiate with players, we do not conduct interviews or negotiate.”
