Bergen has quality wins in the Middle East

VOX Cinemas announced that “Bergen” has broken records at the box office, making it the most successful Turkish film in the Middle East.

This blockbuster biopic hit the theaters on Thursday, June 16 and has been an exception in the film industry, achieving better demand and better performance in its second and third weekends.

Compared to 15,000 tickets sold in its opening week, the third weekend of its run saw an impressive increase in ticket sales of over 107,000 tickets.

In five weeks, the film “Bergen” recorded approximately 371,824,000 impressions in eight markets, and became the first Turkish film to be screened in theaters in Saudi Arabia.

A rich history

Tony Masih, General Manager of Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas, said: “Turkish cinema has a rich history, includes a wide community of promising and creative talent, and has succeeded in achieving prosperity and growth in recent years, not only in the Middle East but also at the level of international festivals.

“Queen of Arabesques”

The film “Perkin” tells the true story of the singer’s life, who went from a promising cellist to a world-renowned singer. She was dubbed the “Queen of Arabesque” and gained widespread fame and attention, and despite continuing a violent and painful relationship with her husband, she continued to struggle performing and singing.

Bergen is directed by Gunner Alber and features actress Farah Zainab Abdullah in the lead role. “Bergen” was selected as the opening film at the Turkish-German Film Festival earlier this year, where it was well received and well received.

“Bergan” is currently showing in theaters in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon and Oman.
