Date:

SEOUL, May 16 (Yonhap) – Korean K-pop group BTS has won three awards at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, one of the top three pop music awards in the United States.

Celebrity American Music Magazine said on Sunday (US time) that the band had won the Best Duo, Band and Best-selling song award for their 2021 hit “Butter”, winning the # 1 Artist Award in song sales and for the sixth year in a row. The band has at least one award.

The band was nominated for a total of 7 awards in 6 categories with two of their songs, including “Permission to Dance”, which was also nominated for Best Selling Song.

In the best doubles or team category, the team won the first place by beating many strong competitors, which is the third time in that category after 2019 and 2021.

The band also won the # 1 Artist Award in terms of song sales for the second year in a row, beating many international stars.

The band members did not attend the concert due to their work due to the new album scheduled to be released next month.

The Billboard Awards are one of the largest music awards in the United States, along with the American Music Awards and the Grammy Awards. Winners are selected based on Billboard’s music charts.

This year’s awards were selected based on lists from April 10 last year to March 26 this year.

Last year, the team was nominated in 4 award categories and won all of them.
