China tightens control measures against “Govt-19” during extended holidays

Chinese federal officials have urged the government to implement Covit-19 control and preventive measures to prevent the re-emergence and spread of the disease during the upcoming holiday season.
A joint circular issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the public offices of the State Council and Xinhua stated that efforts should be made to control the movement of people and crowds from New Year’s Day to the spring holiday. .
The circular calls on local authorities to strengthen epidemic control and prevention measures in port cities and strengthen epidemic surveillance and early warning systems. He also called for strict use of epidemic control and prevention requirements during regular peak vacation trips.
On the other hand, the circular urged the implementation of social assistance policies to ensure the basic living needs of those in need.
The 2022 Chinese Spring Festival is coming up on February 1st.
In this regard, the National Health Council of China said in a statement today that 55 new cases of local infections have been reported in the Chinese mainland due to Govt-19 disease and 52 of the new local cases. According to Xinhua, there is one case each in Shanxi, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Guangxi.
The panel added that 32 new import cases have been registered in ten regions at the provincial level.
