“Cultures of the World” at the Dubai Opera

Dubai Opera has revealed its most important upcoming events, which include 15 exceptional performances on its iconic stage this coming autumn and winter, and will attract art lovers from around the world.

Dubai Opera announced that its new program is coming with its passion for excellence, creativity, diversity and inclusion to cement its position as a beacon for performing arts in the Middle East by adhering to the best international standards and creating a true identity. Presenting itself as the “Home of Cultures” and a renewed hub for creativity, innovation, and a platform where languages ​​and cultures from around the world meet and merge, it offers visitors an unforgettable experience.

The works presented by Dubai Opera range from opera, classical and contemporary ballet, musicals, film scores, drama and comedy. From jazz to pop, rock, electronic and world music. In its new season, it will present a group that appeals to people from all walks of life and fulfills the wishes of lovers of diverse arts.

The Autumn/Winter 2023 season opens with two performances of opera and ballet, the first Swan Lake and the second Madame Butterfly, presented for the first time in the UAE by the Hungarian State Opera and the Hungarian National Ballet.

The Hungarian National Ballet and the Hungarian Opera House will present a tale of timeless love and magic in Dubai for three days (next September 9, 10 and 11), Tchaikovsky’s timeless masterpiece Swan Lake, one of the classic masterpieces. In the history of ballet.

Puccini’s influential opera “Madame Butterfly” will be presented by the Hungarian State Opera on September 12 and 13.

Dubai Opera invites the audience to an exciting evening on September 29, in conversation with Gilberto Gil, who presents a concert with his musical family.

On October 26, audiences will meet violinist David Garrett, who will take Dubai Opera guests on a musical journey with his new album “ICONIC”. Garrett is known for his striking performances and music that blends classical with contemporary.

Meanwhile, Kenny Garrett will perform songs from his latest album, “Voices from the Ancestors,” on Oct. 28. The energetic album showcases Garrett’s creativity and saxophone prowess.

The Dubai Opera Theater will witness a tragic play “Macbeth” for three days between the third and fifth of November next.

On November 11, Dubai hosts Ali Sethi, whose endearing voice and ability to blend classical and contemporary Pakistani music will take audiences on a journey across borders.

On the 24th of the same month, the audience will have a date with a performance by the rock band Jethro Dull. Attendees will enjoy the melodies, powerful rhythms and classics performed by Ian Anderson with his colleagues.

Visitors to the Dubai Opera will be able to witness Slava’s Snowshow, the emirate’s first ever international theater show, on December 8th, 9th and 10th.

Following in his father’s footsteps

Dubai will host the “Dinariwen” art show on December 12, which mixes the rhythms of traditional African music with the lively melodies known throughout the Sahara desert. The concert will be performed by the Grammy Award-winning band Dinariwen from Mali.

On December 21, Dubai will host a performance by singer Matteo Bocelli, who is following in the footsteps of his famous father Andrea Bocelli.
