Emirates Airlines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mauritius for tourism development.

Emirates Airlines has reaffirmed its partnership with Mauritius by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mauritius Tourism Development Authority (MTPA). The current agreement builds an existing partnership between the two sides to promote tourism in Mauritius from key markets through Emirates Airlines’ global network.

The agreement was signed yesterday at the Arabian Travel Market (Forum 2022) by Senior Vice President for Business Operations in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airlines and Group. Ahmed Ahmed Gauri, Director, West Asia and Indian Ocean, and Arvind Bunton, Director, Mauritius Tourism Development Authority, at Emirates Airlines.

Ahmed Gauri said: “Emirates has a long-standing and fruitful partnership with Mauritius, and renewing and strengthening this partnership is a testament to our commitment to promoting tourism and resuming joint efforts, especially in easing international borders. To facilitate summer travel, we will operate a second flight daily from June 23rd.

In addition, Emirates Airlines and Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jaffa) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at attracting more investment in Dubai by collaborating and supporting new and existing businesses registered or licensed in the Free Zone.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, both sides will explore opportunities to offer travel-related benefits to new and existing SMEs and large companies, including joining the Emirates Airlines Business Rewards program to reward corporate loyalty.

Adnan Qasim, CEO of Emirates Airlines, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Jaffa to support Dubai’s efforts to establish itself as one of the world’s preferred investment destinations. Dubai’s vibrant business environment continues to gain momentum by attracting new companies, foreign companies, start-ups and talented entrepreneurs across a wide range of industries.

Emirates Airlines has been supporting a number of initiatives targeting small and medium enterprises and innovative start-ups in the country, and our agreement with (Jafza) strengthens our commitment by providing competitive travel to companies to stimulate diversified economic activity in Dubai. Incentives that allow it to expand the scope of its business at the regional and global levels.
