Cyclist Finn Fisher-Black of the Emirates Cycling Team achieved excellent results in his first Grand Tour race, finishing second in the 16th stage of Voletta España.

The 21-year-old cyclist broke away from the best group of riders in the final kilometer and chased down sole leader Jonas Wingegaard (of the Jumbo-Wisma team), who won the stage and finished second in the general classification. The finish line is on the uphill course from Lingress.

Emirates Cycling Team’s Juan Ayuzo finished fifth, one minute and one second behind, and fourth in the general classification.

Van Fischer-Block said: “When Juan attacked, my intention was to go to the front and support the team. When I looked back, I couldn’t see the team, so the team manager told me to go and try to join. . “It was a good result for me, but The main objective in the coming days is to help the team reach the general classification.”
