Emirates News Agency – The President of Botswana attends his country’s National Day Celebration at Expo 2020

DUBAI, March 13 / WAM / The Republic of Botswana celebrates its National Day today at the “Expo 2020 Dubai” event in the presence of the President of the Republic of Botswana, His Excellency Dr. Mokovetsi Kyapitsui Messi.

The heartfelt “Al Wasl Square” of Expo 2020 featured official ceremonies on national stage, including the raising of the two countries’ flags and the playing of their national anthems, while official speeches during the ceremony highlighted the strong bilateral ties that unite the two countries, making it a prosperous and stable nation through a brilliant international partnership. It also emphasized Botswana’s efforts to change.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai; Mokotzi was greeted by Kyabitzhui Masiசி and his entourage.

The Honorable Dr. Mokoetsi said: “Expo 2020 Dubai represents a milestone on the path to a dream come true, striving to unite the world to participate in the exchange of knowledge for the benefit of these exceptional global citizens and to form smart alliances.

He added: “Our participation in Expo 2020 Dubai will allow us to strengthen and expand bilateral relations with the United Arab Emirates, and we will continue to explore new avenues of cooperation for the mutual benefit of our countries and peoples. The investment agreements we concluded during this event, and encourage those interested to come to Botswana for investment and trade, the trade links established with the United Arab Emirates have great potential, paving the way for the establishment of long-term international trade relations and encouraging investment between the two countries.

In his speech, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said: “By participating, Botswana invites visitors to learn about its natural resources, knowledge capital and prosperous sectors. This pavilion also shows how Botswana has explored new frontiers by creating smart partnerships.”

He added: “The United Arab Emirates is proud of its strong bilateral relations with Botswana and will expand its framework by exploring areas for further cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including agribusiness, health, education and more.”

Later in the day, during a conversation hosted at the Expo 2020 Leadership Pavilion in Dubai, the Honorable Dr. Mokotsi Kyapitsui Mississippi discussed Botswana’s plans to diversify its economy into an industrial nation: “We want to diversify our economy by expanding into new ones. We look forward to taking advantage of opportunities to excel in the fields of agriculture and tourism, as well as in the field of education, to bring in unique skills and talents, including technology. We are a young, stable country, and we have good infrastructure inside and out.

During the National Day celebrations in Al Wasl Square, a strong cultural program centered on four themes; In Botswana, the show provided a moving show through mining, tourism, novelty and food, traditional dance, drama and contemporary songs. It reflects the traditions and culture of Botswana under the title “Botswana in the Gardens”.

Botswana’s Pavilion, located in the Mobility District, has a wealth of intellectual capital and allows visitors to discover how smart partnerships have helped the country enter new frontiers, achieve the unexpected, accelerate the movement of goods, ideas and wealth. Although Botswana is a modern country, it has vast areas of untouched wilderness, rich in flora and fauna, and its people speak more than 20 languages, making it truly a land of many different cultures, tastes and beliefs.
