Find out why Xbox was given this name after it had a different name

Date:

Seamus Blackie was the creator of the company’s first Xbox console MicrosoftThe final name was different from what was originally planned for the Redmond offices.

It has been more than 20 years since 2001 when Microsoft entered the world of console devices under the name Xbox, after Sega led the competition in the video game industry as a direct competitor to Sony and Nintendo. The first Xbox was an amazing invention in its time.

The device had more powerful capabilities than competing devices at the time, such as the PS2 and GameCube, and offered the appearance of a computer disguised as a video game console. !”

Four years later, Microsoft decided to introduce its second device, Xbox 360, although the first Xbox device offered high-quality and technical games, especially Fable, Halo, Forza Motorsport, Star Wars Kotter, Doom 3 , Half-Life 2 and more. The aforementioned console was another Microsoft original that changed Xbox history forever.

The name DirectX Box is an obvious reference to powerful technology for Windows gaming that uses 128-bit technology. It was a good idea until Microsoft analyzed what would happen to the device’s potential successors, which deemed the technology obsolete. It would have been comical to have the name mentioned in the product’s brand name and repeat it, which was the reason for the name change by Seamus Blackie, the creator of the first Xbox.
