Jordan and Qatar have announced a new strategic tourism alliance aimed at appealing to the expanding Japanese market by offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy dual-destination stopovers and immersive cultural experiences. The partnership was revealed at the conclusion of a mobile exhibition hosted by the Jordan Tourism Board in Tokyo and Osaka.

The roadshow featured participation from a range of stakeholders including government agencies, the Jordanian Embassy in Tokyo, destination managers, investors, and private sector tourism leaders. Also present were representatives from Visit Qatar and Qatar Airways, reflecting the joint ambition to position Jordan and Qatar as leading destinations of choice for Japanese travellers.

Dr. Abdelrazzak Arabiyat, Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, emphasised the significance of the partnership: “Jordan and Qatar bring rich and immersive cultural experiences that meet the aspirations of Japanese travellers. Today, with greater interest from Japan to visit the two countries, we are drawing on our mutual synergies to provide a compelling partnership model that will promote dual-destination visits. Jordan’s unparalleled historic sites and natural landscapes, and Qatar’s modern infrastructure and cultural heritage, in addition to the global connectivity offered by Qatar Airways, will provide an integrated cultural experience for visitors from Japan that celebrates the richness of both the nations.”

As part of the event, the Jordan Tourism Board delivered an introductory seminar outlining the country’s varied attractions across history, culture, and natural landscapes. The delegation also held high-level meetings with Japanese officials, engaged with media representatives, and promoted investment opportunities in Jordan. Bilateral discussions were undertaken with Japanese businesses and leading organisations. A special hospitality showcase further introduced attendees to Jordanian culture, featuring traditional cuisine and cultural performances.

Visit Qatar presented its wide-ranging tourism and cultural offering, highlighting both modern infrastructure and the global connectivity provided by Qatar Airways. This underscored Qatar’s position as a world-class destination and an ideal hub for international stopover travel. Alongside Qatar Airways and Discover Qatar, Visit Qatar also arranged a series of B2B sessions with Japanese partners to explore tailored travel programmes for Japanese tourists, with the aim of attracting more visitors in transit and stopover markets.

The collaboration between Visit Qatar and the Jordan Tourism Board reflects their shared goal of enhancing joint promotion efforts. Together they seek to deliver an integrated cultural experience for Japanese travellers, combining the unique strengths of both nations while reinforcing the region’s appeal as a dual-destination hub.
