Citing documents filed in Los Angeles court, singer Kanye West has applied to legally change his name to his old nickname “Ye”.

According to NBC News and other American media, the 44-year-old singer wants to change her full name to Kanye Omri West, without the middle name or surname, to the letter Ye.

NBC said the change was requested for “personal reasons” and that it should be approved by a judge.

For a while, West called himself Yee, and in 2018 he tweeted, “That person is officially called Kanye West. I Yeh. In the same year he released an album of the same name.
