Date:

In the 34th round of the English Premier League, Liverpool regained the points difference with leading Manchester City by beating their neighbors and hosts Everton 2-0 in the Mercedes derby.

Liverpool have won 12 of their last 13 league games, raising their score to 79 points from 33 games, one point behind leading Manchester City, five rounds before the end.

The Reds waited until the second half to settle the game with two headers from Scottish full-back Andrew Robertson (62) and Belgian substitute Djokovic (85).

Liverpool became the team to score the most goals in the Premier League (14 goals) by header this season. Robertson scored two goals and scored 4 of 14 goals.

Historical quartet

Liverpool are still battling for a historic quartet this season and are preparing in the best possible way to face Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final against their Spanish host Villarreal on Wednesday, after reaching the trophy final. And won the league trophy at the expense of the London team earlier in the season.

Liverpool maintained their unbeaten run in the league for the fourth consecutive game, and set the record for most defeats on home soil this season in the “Premier League”.

German coach Jர்கrgen Klopp’s team entered the match after realizing there was an inevitable victory after City’s 5-1 win over Watford on Saturday.

Globe made two changes to the squad that beat Manchester United 4-0 last week, replacing Colombia’s Louis Dias and captain Jordan Henderson, respectively, with Portugal’s Diego Jotta and Guinea’s Nabi Keita.

Substitutes change the game

Liverpool took complete control of possession in the first half, but without any risk, a shot from Senegal’s Sadio Mane over the crossbar (22) was the most important opportunity.

After the first game against Manchester City, Liverpool finished the first half without scoring on home soil for the second time in the league this season, according to the “Opta” game statistics network.

An hour after the meeting, Globe pushed Colombian Luis Diaz and Origi, who added a new dimension to the crowd, and the latter quickly made his mark, exchanging a double pass with Mohamed Salah before the Egyptian star rose. It went into the second post, following which Anderson became the best passer in the Al-Masri League (13) with a header (62).

Substitute Henderson cleared Origi when Dias tried to score with a pair of scissors at a cross, but he failed to reach the ball to the Belgian, who subsequently headed home in front of the goal (85).

Liverpool right-back Robertson expressed his delight at the victory, and it was a tough match, we started meeting in their style, not ours, we were not in our best position, we had to focus. Be patient with ourselves and create opportunities.

He added: “Everton are struggling at every point. We didn’t create any chances in the first half. We had to be patient. Fortunately we scored. My scoring gave me a wonderful feeling.”
