Presight has signed a multi-year agreement with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Albania to deliver a nationwide AI-based smart nation programme.

The programme will roll out advanced smart city systems across 20 cities and 28 international border points. It supports Albania’s push to modernise public infrastructure and strengthen its position as a digitally advanced country within Europe.

Under the agreement, Presight will introduce an integrated AI-driven smart city platform to support core public services. The system will manage real-time operations, improve traffic and mobility systems, support faster emergency coordination, and provide a modern command and control framework aimed at stronger public institutions and improved community outcomes.

Albana Koçiu, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Albania, said: “This national infrastructure program represents a strategic investment in the long-term safety, resilience, and modernization of Albania’s cities. By partnering with Presight, we are harnessing world class AI expertise to strengthen public services, enhance institutional efficiency, and improve the daily experience of our citizens. The program reflects our commitment to responsible innovation and our aspiration to position Albania as a regional leader in the effective application of advanced technologies.”

Thomas Pramotedham, Chief Executive Officer of Presight, said: “With this program, Albania is undertaking one of Europe’s most ambitious smart nation transformations, and Presight is honored to be the AI partner of choice to deliver this critical infrastructure. This nationwide initiative will deploy AI-driven capabilities across 20 cities and 28 international border points, delivering more efficient public services, enhanced mobility, and an improved quality of life for citizens. Presight remains firmly committed to supporting Albania’s digital future with responsible, secure, and impactful applied intelligence.”

The programme reflects the government’s focus on upgrading national infrastructure so that communities across the country benefit from connected and future-ready systems. It aims to digitise key services, support data-led decision making, improve public service efficiency, reduce congestion, strengthen emergency readiness, and build long-term digital capability at a national level.

The agreement also highlights close cooperation between the UAE and Albania. Through this initiative, Albania aims to set an example for how AI can support public services at scale, with a focus on security, responsibility, and lasting value for both institutions and citizens.
