Al-Wahda player, Argentinian Cristian Cuanca confirmed that he is happy to return to play in the Emirati stadiums after joining “Al-Anabi” last summer from Al-Shabaab Saudi Arabia. Emirates league is more exciting than Saudi league in terms of strength of matches.

“I know the Emirati stadiums very well,” Quangah told Emirates Al-Youm after Al-Wahda’s 2-1 loss to Al-Jazeera yesterday in the first leg of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup quarter-finals. Having played with Al-Ain in the 2021-2022 season, I know the situation here very well. Also the nature of the game and the strength of the competition between the clubs, so I don’t see much difference between the UAE and Saudi league. , especially the matches of ADNOC Professional League will see great excitement and competition between all the clubs. He added: “I will help Al-Wahda achieve good results and help the team participate in the local championships this season.”

Regarding the loss to Al-Jazeera, he said: “Al-Wahda didn’t deserve to lose the cup… The proof was that Al-Wahda players hit the post with four balls.” He continued: “The post blocked four clear chances for us to score against Al Jazira. We played a good match and I think we deserved a win, not a defeat, especially as we played well, but we lost differently.” He continued: “Overall, we have a good chance of qualifying for the semi-finals as we have the return match at our home ground and we will work to keep our hopes up to compete for the title.”

He continued: “We have to close the cup and get ready to go back to the league matches because we have an important match at our ground against Kalba in the sixth round, especially since we lost the last two matches, and we want to improve our position in the competition. Al-Annabi’s results in the league are not satisfactory for the players. He pointed out that he added: “We are definitely not satisfied with our results in the league, especially since the team has won two matches and lost three, finishing 10th in the table with six points, and I see an opportunity to improve our results in the list because the competition is just starting and The path is very long.

On his opinion on the competition for the league title and the most popular recommended clubs, he said: “A lot of clubs have done well, as I mentioned, the league is in its infancy and needs (long breath), in general, Al Ain, Shabab Al Ahli and Al Wahda have talent. I see them as very important clubs to compete for the title this season.

Juanka Al-Wahda praised the fans: “The fans support the team wonderfully and play an important role in the good appearance of the players. For our part, we will give everything we have and we promise them that we will work. We will look better in the coming matches.”

It is noteworthy that Al-Wahda, Al-Shabaab signed the 30-year-old Guanca from Saudi Arabia at the Emirates Stadium after Al-Ain, where he previously won the league title with “Al-Saim”. He participated in 25 league matches, in which he scored eight goals. , while he played and scored in 29 matches with Al-Shabaab Saudi Arabia last season. 13 goals. On the other hand, he has not scored any goals in the current season with Al-Wahda in the league as he has played three matches while he has scored two goals in the cup.

• UAE league is more exciting than Saudi league as its matches see great rivalry between all clubs.

• The league is in its infancy and I recommend Al-Wahda, Al-Ain and Shabaab Al-Ahly to compete for the title.
